How to adjust the read power on my scanner?
Adjust the read power
1. Install RFID Explorer 2 by Technology Solutions UK Ltd.
2. Open the app and select Connect Reader.
3. Pull the scanner’s trigger to activate Bluetooth discovery.
4. Select your reader when it appears. Its Bluetooth name is based on the serial number printed on the reader.
5. After connecting, swipe left to open the Inventory screen.
6. Lower the read power using the slider.
7. Pull the trigger and test the scanner near your tags.
8. Continue adjusting the slider until the scanner reads tags only within the distance you need.
A lower power setting generally produces a shorter read range. The ideal setting depends on the tags, their placement, nearby materials, and the surrounding environment, so test it in the area where your team normally scans.
Finding one specific item in Stageforce
If you are trying to locate one known tag rather than scan everything nearby:
1. Connect the RFID reader to the Stageforce app.
2. Open the product in Inventory.
3. Expand the Tags section.
4. Select Locate with Scanner beside the appropriate tag.
5. Hold the trigger and move through the area.
The signal indicator increases as the reader gets closer to the selected tag. This should help narrow the location to within a few feet, but it is not designed for exact pinpointing.
For the most precise one-item scan, use the printed barcode or QR code when your reader includes a compatible 2D imager.
