How to Remove RFID Tag Associations from Inventory Items?
How to remove RFID tag associations from inventory items:
Sometimes you need to disassociate an RFID tag from an item because the physical tag was lost, the item was sold, or you want to reassign the tag number to a different piece of inventory. Here is how it works.
The difference between deactivating and disassociating:
Before making changes, it helps to know what each option does:
Deactivating a tag - marks it as permanently removed from service (sold, donated, damaged, missing, or other). The item is removed from your active inventory count. The tag's history stays in the system for reference in the Deactivated Tag Report. Use this when an item leaves your warehouse for good.
Disassociating a tag - removes the link between the tag number and the item without marking it as deactivated. The tag number goes back to the unassigned pool in Tag Manager. Use this if you want to reassign a tag number to a different item.
Deactivating a tag (item is leaving your inventory)
1. Open the inventory item. 2. Find the RFID tag number attached to the item. 3. Click the tag to open its detail view. 4. Select the removal reason (Sold, Donated, Damaged, Missing, or Other) and confirm.
Deactivated tags appear in > Inventory Dashboard > Reports > Deactivated Tag Report.
