Get to know your RFID reader

The TSL 1128 Bluetooth UHF RFID reader utilizes a, green, and orange LED indicator system to provide status updates on connectivity, scanning, and battery levels. 

Bluetooth & General Status (Blue LED) 
  • Slow Flash (50% on/off): The reader is powered on (awake) but not connected to a host device.
  • Constant Blue: The reader is powered on and successfully connected to a host device.
  • Rapid Flash: Often indicates the device is in pairing mode or attempting to connect. 
Scan/Read Status (Green LED) 
  • Short Flash: The reader has successfully read a tag or barcode, or executed an alert command.
  • Slow Flash (50% on/off): Indicates an antenna error; try reseating the antenna. 
Battery & Charging Status (Orange LED) 
  • Slow Flash (50% on/off): Low battery warning, with less than 10% capacity remaining. Recharge immediately.
  • Short Single Flash: Charging, with battery level below 33%.
  • Short Double Flash: Charging, with battery level at or below 66%.
  • Short Triple Flash: Charging, with battery level greater than 66%.
  • Constant Orange: The reader is fully charged.
  • Rapid Flash: A charge error or battery fault has occurred. 
Other Statuses
  • All LEDs Off: The reader is turned off and not charging.
  • Yellow Button (Trigger): When pressed, the blue LED should flash to indicate it is awake. 
If the orange LED flashes rapidly, it may indicate that the battery temperature is outside the safe charging range (5°C to 40°C).
