Scanner Workflow: Shop, Load, Stage

Strategic Scanner Protocol

The Scanner is a wonderful tool, yet it has limitations. We highly recommend following this protocol to save the most time and accurately track your products.

1. SHOP: Select items for the stage

Designer/Assistant

Shop for all items needed for the project. Shopped items will appear in the SELECTED bucket in Move and Manage.

Shopping methods:

1. Shop for the project from your warehouse. Selected items will appear in the SELECTED bucket.

2. Use the Reader or phone in single-scan mode. Scan each tag individually, as you would at a store checkout.

3. Shop the warehouse by sight. Tape the item, then add it to the project by entering the item number, shopping within Stageforce, or using the Reader.

Important: We do not recommend selecting multiple items with the Reader at once at the warehouse or in the truck. When a truck is fully loaded, the Scanner may not detect every tag. You may spend more time checking for missed items than you save by scanning in bulk.

2. LOAD: Confirm the order

Confirm each item as it is loaded by moving it from SELECTED to LOCATED for Staging.

Loading and confirmation methods:

1. On a phone, tablet or desk device

- Open the Project.

- Select Move and Manage.

- Open the SELECTED bucket. This is everything that needs to be loaded resides.

- Search the category you want to load first, such as sofas

- As each product is found and loaded on the truck and mark it LOCATED FOR STAGING

- Continue until every item has been loaded for the job and the selected bucket is empty.

2. Use mobile or the Reader (in single-scan mode). Scan each tag individually into Stageforce- then pack

3. STAGE: Confirm the actual items used

This is where the Reader is most valuable for maintaining accurate inventory by tag number.

For example, your warehouse may contain 20 identical chairs. The crew may pull six chairs without matching the exact item numbers originally selected in Stageforce. When the crew scans the chairs placed in the home, the Reader identifies the actual items and updates the tag numbers accordingly.

Accurate tag numbers are especially important when selling products through eCommerce. Confirming the actual items used keeps your available inventory correct.

4. DE-STAGE: Prevent loss and catch items left behind

A mobile device and Scanner are recommended.

1. When you arrive at the property, scan each room. As items appear in Stageforce, move them to LOCATED FOR DESTAGING.

2. Review any items that did not scan. Once you find them, confirm each item and move it to LOCATED FOR DESTAGING.

3. After the home is empty, scan every room again to identify anything that may have been left behind.

5. RE-STOCK - Back at the warehouse you move items to STAGED via scanning or Move and Manage. Make sure that all other buckets are cleared of product. Flag any missing product. Here you have the opportunity to change the default warehouse location for an item if needed.
